I enjoy any landscape image for a painting. Golf courses, sea coasts, mountains, rivers, parks and forests: they are my subject matter. While I use photographs as references, I want a painting to be my interpretation. You never want to simply copy the photo, but use it for structure, composition, light path or express some emotion or feeling. Besides, to copy takes away the creativity, use of color and the enjoyment that comes with painting.
